ElevenLabs Pricing Explained: Plans, Credits and Limits
ElevenLabs pricing in October 2026: every plan from Free to Business, how credits and rollover work, API rates per 1,000 characters, and what the limits mean.
As of October 2026, ElevenLabs plans run from Free at $0 a month to Business at $990 a month. Paid plans include a monthly credit pool, unused credits roll over for up to two months, and the free plan has no commercial license. API usage is billed separately per 1,000 characters, starting at $0.04.
Every figure below comes from ElevenLabs' pricing and help pages, checked on 2026-10-17. The vendor's pricing page does not show a last-updated date, so confirm the numbers before you subscribe.
ElevenLabs pricing plans at a glance
The main pricing page lists monthly prices, credits and approximate minutes. The annual price is ten months' cost for twelve months of service.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Credits | About minutes | Extra minute | Concurrency | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | Free | $0 | n/a | 10,000 | About 10 | Not shown | 2 | | Starter | $6 | $5 | 30,000 | About 30 | About $0.20 | 3 | | Creator | $22 | $18.33 | 121,000 | About 121 | About $0.18 | 5 | | Pro | $99 | $82.50 | 600,000 | About 600 | About $0.17 | 10 | | Scale | $299 | $249.17 | 1.8M | About 1,800 | About $0.17 | 15 | | Business | $990 | $825 | 6M | About 6,000 | About $0.17 | 25 | | Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
The Starter promotion and the Creator first-month discount are promotions, not permanent prices, so they are left out of the table. The Free plan's extra-minute figure is also omitted because the vendor's terms on buying extra minutes on Free are unclear.
Enterprise adds DPA and SLA terms, business associate agreements for HIPAA, custom SSO, elevated concurrency and priority support. Pricing is by quote only.
How ElevenLabs credits work
Every ElevenLabs product draws from one shared monthly credit pool. Text to speech, speech to text, music, sound effects, voice changing and dubbing all spend from the same balance, but each product uses a different number of credits.
The vendor's credit costs are:
- Text to speech: 1 credit per character on Multilingual v2. Flash and Turbo models cost 0.5 to 1 credit per character on the API.
- Speech to text: 330 credits per minute.
- Music: 900 credits per minute.
- Sound effects: 200 credits per generation.
- Voice Changer and Voice Isolator: 1,000 credits per minute.
- Dubbing: 2,000 to 10,000 credits per minute, depending on the type and whether a watermark applies.
Eleven v4 is on every plan, including Free, and the vendor says it uses "the same credit pricing as our other Text to Speech models." Do not assume it costs 1 credit per character. Check the current cost in the app before you plan a large project.
Credits are charged per generation request, not per download. ElevenLabs says a limited number of free regenerations may be available when the content and settings do not change.
Do unused credits roll over?
Yes, on a paid subscription, and only within limits. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits roll over for up to two months, up to twice the monthly quota. The total balance can reach at most three times the quota.
Several rules matter when you plan a budget:
- Rollover applies only while you are on an active paid subscription.
- The Free plan has no rollover.
- If you downgrade or cancel, unused credits are forfeited at the end of the cycle.
- Pay As You Go top-up credits sit outside the rollover cap.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle. The account then moves to Free, and unused paid credits expire.
What happens when you run out of credits
When you run out, you have two options. The first is Pay As You Go, a prepaid balance you top up in US dollars. The minimum top-up is $5, you can make up to 250 top-ups a month, and subscription credits are used before the PAYG balance. PAYG credits last 12 months. PAYG is available on every self-serve tier, including Free, but not on Enterprise or legacy subscriptions. If your balance reaches $0 and auto top-up is off, the service pauses.
The second option is legacy usage-based billing, which charges for extra credits after your quota. ElevenLabs says this exists only on Enterprise and on some legacy Creator, Pro, Scale and Business plans. New self-serve subscriptions use PAYG. The ElevenLabs billing documentation and the Pay As You Go documentation describe both options.
The vendor does not publish a per-credit price for top-ups, so this guide does not state one.
ElevenLabs API pricing per 1,000 characters
API usage is billed in US dollars, separately from the credit system used in the app. The API page lists these rates per 1,000 characters:
| Model | Price per 1,000 characters | Derived price per 1M characters | |---|---|---| | Eleven v4 | $0.08 | $80 | | Eleven v4 Turbo | $0.04 | $40 | | Eleven v3 | $0.08 | $80 | | Eleven v3 Conversational | $0.04 | $40 | | Multilingual v2 | $0.08 | $80 | | Flash and Turbo | $0.04 | $40 |
The derived column is simple arithmetic on the list price. Other API rates on the same page include Scribe v2 speech to text at $0.22 per hour, Scribe v2 Realtime at $0.39 per hour, and music at $0.15 per minute.
The API page also lists characters included with each plan. For example, it shows 75,000 characters for Starter and 275,000 for Creator at the v4 rate. These figures differ from the minutes in the app pricing table, because the API page is a separate calculator. Present them as separate numbers.
Model limits also matter. Per generation, v4 and Multilingual v2 accept up to 10,000 characters, v3 accepts 5,000, and Flash and Turbo accept 40,000.
Commercial license and the free plan
The free plan does not include a commercial license. Published content made on Free must credit "elevenlabs.io" or "11.ai" in the title. All paid plans include a commercial license, except for Beta Services. Content generated during a paid subscription can be used commercially, subject to service-specific terms. The ElevenLabs commercial use help page sets out the rules.
If you publish a voiceover for a client or for a product, generate it on a paid plan. Check the terms before you use a free-plan clip anywhere.
Annual billing and what it saves
Annual billing charges for ten months and covers twelve. The savings are about two months of the monthly price, as the plan table shows. The annual Starter plan costs $60 a year, the annual Creator plan $220, the annual Pro plan $990, the annual Scale plan $2,990 and the annual Business plan $9,900.
Annual billing makes sense if you know you will use the plan all year. If your usage moves up and down, a monthly plan with PAYG top-ups may cost less in practice.
Is ElevenLabs worth it? Cost per minute and the alternatives
Cost per minute depends on how much audio you need and which unit you buy. The plan pages list extra-minute prices of about $0.17 to $0.20 on paid plans. Those are the vendor's own figures, not derived rates. Compare them with each alternative's published minute figure rather than its credit count.
OndaLabs uses a different credit system, so the figures are not directly comparable. OndaLabs Free gives 2,000 credits a month, about 2 minutes. Starter is $9 a month for 170,000 credits, about 189 minutes, with commercial use included. Creator is $22 a month for 400,000 credits, 3 custom voices and music generation. Pro is $49 a month for 900,000 credits and 10 custom voices. Business is $199 a month for 3,750,000 credits and 30 custom voices. Yearly plans cost 10 times the monthly price. You can compare the full set on the OndaLabs pricing page, or start free.
Using the BRIEF ratio, where 170,000 credits is about 189 minutes on Onda Lite, a 400,000-credit Creator plan is roughly 444 minutes. That figure is derived, and it is not a quality comparison. The two products use different credit systems and different voices.
